8th International Conference on Hyperacusis and Misophonia (ICHM8)We are pleased to announce the 8th International Conference on Hyperacusis and Misophonia (ICHM8), taking place from 14–16 October 2026 in Hanover, Germany.
ICHM8 continues the tradition of bringing together global experts across ENT, audiology, mental health, neuroscience, and patient advocacy to explore the latest developments in research and clinical innovation related to sound intolerance. With keynote speakers, an interdisciplinary scientific programme, and an exhibition environment that encourages collaboration and networking, the conference provides a unique opportunity to connect, learn, and contribute to shaping the future of care for people living with hyperacusis and misophonia.
Hyperacusis and misophonia are complex conditions that sit at the intersection of auditory processing, neural mechanisms, psychological processes, and lived experience. Advancing understanding and improving treatment requires collaboration across disciplines and effective translation of research findings into accessible and compassionate clinical care.
ICHM8 provides an international forum for this work. The conference will bring together researchers, clinicians, allied health professionals, and patient advocates to examine emerging evidence, refine approaches to assessment and diagnosis, and evaluate therapeutic, rehabilitative, and technological interventions. By integrating scientific, clinical, and lived-experience perspectives, the meeting aims to support advances in knowledge that have direct relevance to real-world practice.
In 2026, ICHM8 will take place alongside the 70th International Congress of Hearing Aid Acousticians and Exhibitions (EUHA), the world’s largest hearing care professionals congress, held from 14–16 October 2026 in Hanover.
This collaboration represents an important milestone for the hyperacusis and misophonia community, positioning sound intolerance firmly within the broader global hearing healthcare and hearing technology landscape.
With a single registration, participants will gain access to three interconnected events, enabling engagement with cutting-edge research, clinical practice developments, and innovations in hearing technology in one location. The integrated format encourages dialogue between researchers, clinicians, technologists, and industry leaders, strengthening links between scientific discovery, clinical application, and technological development.
The partnership with EUHA reflects the growing recognition of hyperacusis and misophonia within the wider hearing health ecosystem and highlights the importance of multidisciplinary collaboration in addressing sound intolerance.
ICHM8 is organized by Hashir International Institute and hosted by the International Congress of Hearing Aid Acousticians and Exhibitions (EUHA).
