Hashir International has announced the launch of CBT-Hear Australia, a year-long advanced clinical training and professional development programme for clinicians working with people experiencing tinnitus, hyperacusis and misophonia.
The programme will begin with a two-day face-to-face masterclass in Melbourne on 26–27 November 2026, followed by 12 months of online learning, clinical supervision, mentorship and professional development from December 2026 to November 2027.
CBT-Hear Australia is open to audiologists, audiometrists, hearing therapists, psychologists, counsellors and other appropriately qualified health and social care professionals involved in supporting people with tinnitus, hyperacusis and misophonia.
The programme has been developed to help clinicians strengthen their knowledge and practical skills in assessing and managing distress associated with these conditions. The year-long format is intended to extend learning beyond a short professional course by combining formal teaching with supervised clinical practice, reflective learning, case discussion and longitudinal mentorship.
Following the Melbourne masterclass, participants will continue their training through online lectures and teaching, regular clinical supervision, reflective practice and case-based learning. They will also receive access to the CBT-Hear learning platform and educational resources throughout the programme.
Clinicians who successfully complete the programme will achieve CBT-Hear Certified Practitioner status. Certified Practitioners are trained to deliver specialised rehabilitation programmes based on cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) for people experiencing distress associated with tinnitus, hyperacusis and misophonia, while practising within their own professional scope.
The certification programme also provides a pathway for continued professional development. Following certification, clinicians may progress to CBT-Hear Certified Advanced Clinician, with further progression to CBT-Hear Fellowship available for clinicians demonstrating continued professional development, clinical achievement and contribution to the field.
Registered clinicians are listed on the CBT-Hear Public Register, which provides a record of their current certification and registration status within the programme.
The programme fee is £2,800.
