The Hashir International Institute invites researchers, clinicians, and professionals to submit abstracts for the 8th International Conference on Hyperacusis and Misophonia (ICHM8), taking place from 14–16 October 2026 in Hanover, Germany.
ICHM8 continues the tradition of bringing together global experts from ENT, audiology, psychology, neuroscience, and patient advocacy to share research, clinical experience, and new ideas in the field of sound intolerance. The conference provides a unique international forum to explore the latest advances in understanding hyperacusis and misophonia and to strengthen collaboration across disciplines.
With keynote lectures, scientific sessions, and opportunities for discussion across clinical and research domains, the conference aims to support the development of evidence-based approaches that improve the lives of people living with sound intolerance.
Hyperacusis and misophonia are complex conditions that sit at the intersection of auditory processing, neural mechanisms, psychological processes, and lived experience. Progress in understanding and treatment requires collaboration between researchers and clinicians, and the translation of research findings into effective, compassionate, and accessible care.
ICHM8 provides a dedicated international platform for this work. The conference will bring together researchers, clinicians, allied health professionals, and patient advocates to examine emerging evidence, refine assessment and diagnostic approaches, and evaluate therapeutic, rehabilitative, and technological interventions.
By integrating scientific, clinical, and lived-experience perspectives, the conference seeks to support advances in knowledge that have direct relevance for real-world practice.
In 2026, ICHM8 will take place in conjunction with the 70th International Congress of Hearing Aid Acousticians and Exhibitions (EUHA), the world’s largest hearing care industry exhibition and conference.
This collaboration represents an important milestone for the hyperacusis and misophonia community, positioning sound intolerance research within the broader global hearing healthcare and hearing technology landscape.
With a single registration, delegates will have access to three interconnected events, creating a unique opportunity to engage with:
leading research on hyperacusis and misophonia
clinical innovations in hearing and sound intolerance care
the latest developments in hearing technology and industry
This integrated format encourages dialogue between researchers, clinicians, technologists, and industry leaders, strengthening the connection between scientific discovery, clinical application, and technological development.
Researchers and clinicians are invited to submit abstracts describing original research, clinical studies, or innovative approaches related to hyperacusis, misophonia, and sound intolerance.
