Together with researchers in the Motor Development and Impact Lab at the University (Motor Development and Impact Lab | University of Surrey), we have developed a new research study investigating dyspraxia/DCD [a condition involving movement difficulties] in children. This study aims to understand the strategies used by typically developing children and children with neurodevelopmental conditions such as dyspraxia when they move, ultimately improving support for children with neurodevelopmental conditions. This also has important implications for a better understanding of how movement develops and how we can support all children with motor skills development, ultimately supporting their mental and physical wellbeing. This study has been approved by the University of Surrey Ethics Committee (FHMS 23-24 198 EGA / ERM ID 1630).
We are looking for volunteers (parents and children aged 9-11 years in the UK) for this online study. The study has two parts, a questionnaire for the parent and an online game for the child (20-30 minutes each). The first part is a short questionnaire for the parent and at the end of it, the link for the game will be shown to use for your child to then play!
