Clinical Psychologist

£53,755 to £60,504 per annum (pro rata in case of part time)

Contract type:  Permanent

We offer full-time, part-time and “term time only” contracts. Term time contracts are typically 38 to 40 weeks. Staff on term time contracts take their annual leave during school holidays and they get paid for the hours worked during the term plus their annual leave entitlement. The salary is usually paid in 12 monthly instalments.

Job summary: 

This is an exciting opportunity for a psychologist to join our team at Hashir International Institute.

The post holder will (1) work closely with the multidisciplinary team, including Audiology, Occupational Therapy, Health Psychology, Neuroscience as well as Psychiatry and ENT, (2) assess, plan, implement and evaluate psychological interventions for patients experiencing distressing misophonia, tinnitus, hyperacusis, auditory imagery, noise sensitivity, auditory hallucinations, hearing loss, and vertigo/dizziness, (3) provide psychological assessment and therapies for patients with anxiety/mood disorders, eating disorders/obesity, attention deficit disorder, educational deficits, childhood trauma, chronic pain, sleep disturbances, cognitive decline, dependency, dissociation, family conflict, sexual dysfunction, stress, grief, intimate relationship conflicts, low self-esteem, personality disorders, unexplained medical conditions, parenting, substance use, and suicidal ideations, (4) provide psychological support for patients’ family members and/or significant others, (5) take on an active role in the design and implementation of innovative psychological care models, (6) provide psychological assessment and therapies for children and young people with learning difficulties (e.g., children diagnosed with Dyspraxia/ DCD, Developmental Delays, ASD, ADHD and neurological disorders) in school, home and clinical settings, (7) lead/contribute to research studies, (8) present research results in conferences and scientific meetings, and (9) supervise students and team members.

Hashir International Institute is an independent, UK-based research institute and multidisciplinary rehabilitation clinic employing audiologists, occupational therapists, clinical psychologists, health psychologists, neuroscientists and researchers.

The post holder will need to be a motivated and flexible team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills. The post holder must have a current registration with the HCPC and must be a car driver, with access to a car to travel to different locations in Surrey (UK) for school and home visits as well as attending our clinic in Guildford town centre.
